Annual Report 2019 - 2020

A Very Good Evening to everyone.

As the famous quote goes, “Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things”.

I feel honored to extend a hearty welcome to our respected dignitaries on the dais, ladies and gentle men, my beloved children, teachers and staff members. I am happy to welcome the new parents to our 2019-20 school year!!

Today, Iam delighted to stand before the most illustrious and esteemed gathering to present the Annual Report of the year 2019-20.

At the very outset of this wonderful occasion, I take great pride and pleasure to highlight the great commitment, endurance and achievement of our beloved Founder Shri Lokesh Reddy Garu who started this institution in the year 2018.

Our task is to help children communicate with the world using all their potential, strength and languages, and to overcome any obstacle presented to them. That is why, it is fair to say that we thus believe that we are here to create interest, actively involve, and help them invent with their own abilities.

“Teachers are also learners.” Staying updated is the key to success in any field, especially, in education. To start the year, workshop for teachers were conducted. Its main objective was to benefit the students and teacher through new strategies, techniques, or tips that can be utilized in the classroom.

The principle motive of our school is to provide desirable knowledge, skills and attitudes to our students.A CBSE LESSON PLAN workshop was conducted to train our teachers to explore the key ingredients, encourage deeper understanding and make learning explicit. It also enabled teachers to get a better understanding of children classroom behavior.

To improve upon and inspire an individual is great, but greater still is inspiring a group, and with this in our mind, we organized Parent Orientation.

Before I proceed towards the details of our activities for this session, I would like to give you a brief description about how we start our day and then keep our children involvethroughout. The day starts with the morning assembly followed by OM chanting at the beginning of class to settle the energy with the vibrations that feel the classroom. Next we ensure that every day we incorporate the moral values in our children through moral stories.

We believe that we should march along with time. Hence, our teaching and learning method is not limited to papers. We have smart boards installed in all the classes. It provides visual and tactile students with an enriched learning experience.

Now, to give a gist of the common events and celebrations for our school I would like to start with the  SPORTS DAY which was celebrated to showcase the talent and efforts were put in by the children to make this a special event. Some games were arranged for parents too.

To bring students closer to traditional and cultural belief and build a close bond between the students, we had celebrated many festivals and celebrations like Onam, Janmastami, Diwali, Kannada Rajyotsava, Dussera, Christmas, etc.

Independence Day, Teachers Day, Children’s Day are few of other events which were celebrated to inculcate in students respect for India‘s rich heritage and diversity.

HEALTH CHECK UP was organized to determine that our children continues to have good health and hand in hand helps the children understand that sound health is an important step toward living a longer and healthier life.

There were many activities which were conducted this session, however, as because of the time constraint, I would like to highlight few of them.

To start with, let me take you through the activities of Pre-primary.

Monthly Newsletter for pre-primary is published to keep the parents updated in regards to academics, various activities, themes, etc.

Teachers keep an eye on their students. STAR OF THE WEEK is given to students for attendance, conduct, overall performance, etc., on weekly basis. To make this event more motivating, parents are invited to watch their proud children receive the STAR.

A chance to be the centre of attraction and show off what they have to discuss, makes a student feel good about them. SHOW AND TELL is practiced in the classroom to help children improve appropriate social skills.

“A child’s development of his mind comes through his movements”. Students are encouraged not only in academic performance but also in improving their gross and fine motor skills. With the development of these skills a child is able to complete important tasks, such as, writing, feeding oneself, buttoning, etc.

“Sharing is Caring” is not only told but also practiced through the SHARING DAY. Caring was not only limited to sharing of food items but also caring of our nature. Mother Earth was taught to them by observing GREEN DAY.

Incorporating music and movement in early childhood education helps young children with social interaction and language growth, mental and physical development. This year we have introduced Music, Dance and Physical Training along with Art and Craft classes.

AWARENESSOF GOOD &BAD TOUCH is very important for the betterment of our young children. Alerting children is not enough, we have to teach them from a tender age what to do if ever they face an unacceptable situation and can deal with it. Our goal here is to inform your child about the dangers, without causing any anxiety.

“A Grandparent is a little bit parent, a little bit teacher and a little best friend”. The little ones invited their grandparents to put a smile on their face with lovely performances, games and entertainment. This GRAND PARENT’S DAY was celebrated with immense pleasure.

“Learning is more effective when it is an active rather than passive process’. LRIS has made it a point to focus on effective learning apart from normal classroom sessions. To make learning more interesting a theme is selected every month based on which activities, projects are assigned to children. They are then given opportunities to talk on the theme. Community helpers, transport, seasons, etc., were some of the themes of the year.

Next I would like to bring forth the activities of Primary section.

To help children improve their academic scores week along activities like English week, Math week, Science week were organized for students to gather and laugh, to learn and go. The learning was through spirit-filled games, healthy competitions and skit.

Real excellence is when the academic knowledge is used efficiently. Our students are encouraged to participate in competitive exams like NSO, UCO, IMO, etc. which builds up positive spirit among students and gives ambition and motivation for students to prepare themselves for all level competitive exams. They bring laurels.

“Do activities as you’re passionate about, which makes your heart and soul feel perky.” Various competitions for studentslike Master Chef, Talent Hunt, Spell bee, etc. were organized to discover students’ interest and talents while developing values and competencies for rapidly changing world.

Children love to be in the spotlight and having a “Best Student Award” is a great way to honor each individual student. This award category is encouraged to help build a sense of stimulation and inspiration amongst every student along with being the proud owner.

Sitting at a desk for hours a day, home work assignments, numerous tests, etc. all cause a student’s body and mind tense up. YOGA DAY was observed by performing asanas, breathing exercises to make our students aware of the significance of yoga in our daily life and to relieve them fromstress, strain, fear etc.

“Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.” Children learn better when they are involved. We celebrated the INVESTITURE CEREMONY wherein the children were not only given the opportunity to cast vote for their leader but also helped to acquire the sort of communication, planning and organizational skills which will be beneficial to them in their future.

FIELD TRIP to Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium was conducted for Primary section too.The students were taken to Avengers Station held in Phoenix Mall

Childrenat this age need physical activity to build strength, coordination, and confidence — and to lay the groundwork for a healthy lifestyle. We have introduced skating and aerobic classes through which they gain more control over how active they are.

It has been another year of long journey and I am sure the collective stepput forward towards our vision by our committed and energetic parents and the intelligent and hardworking team, and while one step was taken, have felt the joy and satisfaction of their accomplishment. I hear it aloud, that many more are to go, and it is certainly achievable.

I would finally like to conclude with famous quote “Education is what survives when what has been learned has been forgotten”.
